Youtube takes on Tiktok

‘Shorts’ are getting ‘Long’

In October, Youtube Shorts went after Tiktok. ⚔️
...and it might be about to regret its own name. 😬

That's right. Youtube Shorts are getting... longer. 🧐

Video lengths in October 2024 tripled from 1 to 3 minutes.

We should be in no doubt - it's all in the name of watch time, and keeping people on the platform for longer. ⏳

But with Instagram Reels being around 15 mins and Tiktok able to go up to an hour, it's still the shortest... for now.

Is 'short-form' content going to be around in 5 years? It's looking unlikely. 👎

But in the world of ads? Yes. 👏

Your brand still only gets seconds to hook a potential lead, before they spend 3 mins on the next video. 🤳

So, take lessons learned from short-form, and apply it to long-form. 💥

Can you see a future without bite-sized content?
