Youโ€™re losing 33% of your audience

Cut to the point

Youโ€™re losing a third of your audience. ๐Ÿซ

Look at the Youtube retention graph of these six videos. ๐Ÿ‘‡

(๐Ÿ˜„ These are from my videos ~1K+ views.)

(๐Ÿง Retention graphs show what % of the audience that clicked on the video are still watching at that time)

The green circle indicates when the video mentions the subject of the video. ๐ŸŸข

For instance, a travel video starts with 10 seconds driving in the car ๐Ÿš—, before cutting to "here we are in Atlanta!" ๐ŸŸข

Or a music video that spends 15 seconds with a story setup ๐Ÿ“•, before the song. ๐ŸŸข

Most videos that don't start instantly with what the viewer was expecting show a dramatic drop-off in retention. ๐Ÿ“‰

These videos lose at least THIRD its audience in seconds. ๐Ÿคฏ

Apply this lesson to ALL your content, whether it's video, blogs, or podcasts.
